Incidents of obscene messages directed at female artists on social media are nothing new. Earlier this year, actor Shabnam Faria publicly called out a staff member of Sajida Foundation, Rakibul Hasan, after he posted an offensive comment on her Facebook post. Faria immediately shared a post on Facebook protesting the remark, along with a screenshot of the comment and the man’s profile picture. The individual later lost his job.

In a similar incident, well-known actress Prasun Azad has now published a screenshot of a vulgar message sent to her inbox. The message contained sexually explicit comments about her body.

Sharing the screenshot on Facebook, Prasun wrote, “Tell your mother or wife to show theirs. There’s no difference, believe me. It’s the same thing. Only the skin tone changes slightly. The skin you see on the cheek is the same skin that’s on the p**. Trust me.”*

One fan commented on her post, urging her to reveal the sender’s name, identity, and workplace. In response, Prasun said, “That would be the right thing to do. But his life would be over, brother. Let it go.”

Prasun Azad was the first runner-up in a reality show in 2012 before starting her acting career. While she was initially active in the entertainment industry, she gradually stepped back and is now rarely seen on screen.
