Renowned game developer Activision has announced that it is discontinuing updates for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile and will remove the game from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. According to a report by Engadget, today marks the final opportunity for users to download the game.

Activision stated that the mobile version failed to gain the expected traction among users, unlike its PC and console counterparts. Released in March 2024, Warzone Mobile was met with criticism due to various glitches, poor optimization, and excessive battery consumption.

Players who install the game before May 19 will still be able to enjoy “shared inventory cross-progression with existing content.” However, Activision has clarified that although the servers will remain online for now, they may be shut down at any time in the future.

To encourage players to transition to Call of Duty: Mobile, Activision is offering double COD points and additional rewards. However, the company has confirmed that unused COD points and purchased items in Warzone Mobile will not be refunded.
