Entrepreneurship World Cup Bangladesh 2025: Empowering Entrepreneurs

The "Entrepreneurship World Cup Bangladesh 2025" (EWC Bangladesh 2025) has been launched with the aim of showcasing new ideas from entrepreneurs, establishing networking opportunities with global investors and mentors, and introducing Bangladesh’s startup ecosystem to the global stage. The official launch of the initiative was announced on Monday, April 28, 2025, through a "Meet the Press" event at Daffodil Plaza in Dhaka's Dhanmondi area. During the event, participants urged the organization of awareness campaigns, seminars, and workshops at the university level to promote the culture of startups.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Bangladesh and Daffodil International University, stated that the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) is one of the world’s largest startup pitching competitions, where participants present their innovative ideas and business plans for a chance to win up to $3 million in prizes and investment opportunities. This year, startups from Bangladesh will be selected in three categories: Idea Stage, Early Stage, and Growth Stage.
He said, “Innovation will shape the Bangladesh of tomorrow. And the Entrepreneurship World Cup is the first step towards realizing that dream.”
Speakers at the event emphasized that this World Cup presents a significant opportunity for the Bangladeshi startup ecosystem, where entrepreneurs will have the chance to connect with global investors, advisors, and technology experts.
The event is being organized by GEN Bangladesh, Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited, Knowledge Vail, and Daffodil International University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department, with support from international partners such as Microsoft, NEOM, and Monshaat.
The event also featured speeches by Munir Hasan, Chief Coordinator of Digital Transformation and Youth Programs at Prothom Alo, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of Daffodil Group, Md. Shawkat Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited, and KM Hasan Ripon, Managing Director of GEN Bangladesh. Other esteemed board members from GEN Bangladesh, representatives from partner organizations, startup entrepreneurs, and media personalities were also present.
At the end of the event, detailed information about the registration and participation process for EWC 2025 was provided. The event was co-organized by Daffodil International University and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Bangladesh.
