Fake WhatsApp Account Impersonates DUET Vice-Chancellor

A fraudulent WhatsApp account has been created using the name and photo of Professor Dr. Mohammad Zainal Abedin, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET).

General Diary Filed Over Impersonation

In response to the incident, Dr. Mohammad Zainal Abedin has filed a General Diary (GD) at Gazipur Sadar Police Station.

The Vice-Chancellor stated, "Someone has created a WhatsApp ID using my name and photo. An unidentified person is sending messages from the number 01876122135, requesting financial assistance from my acquaintances. This has caused confusion among some of my contacts."

He further mentioned that he attempted to contact the number but was unsuccessful. Considering concerns regarding his personal security and social reputation, he proceeded with filing a GD at the police station.

Authorities at the police station have assured him of legal assistance regarding the matter.
