Internet service provider Amber IT Limited has expanded its broadband network to 400 upazilas across Bangladesh, marking the milestone with the launch of connectivity in Kaptai, Rangamati. The company aims to extend its network to 500 upazilas by June next year.

The company announced the development in a press release on Thursday, 5 November. Before Kaptai, Amber IT had reached Golapganj in Sylhet as its 399th upazila.

Amber IT currently operates its services through its own network infrastructure across all 64 districts of Bangladesh. The expansion at the upazila level is expected to extend access to reliable broadband connectivity for more people beyond district towns.

The company said it plans to bring five more upazilas—Mirsharai, Naria, Mirpur, Mirzapur and Bhulli—under its network by the end of November. It is also working to expand network capacity and customer service alongside the gradual development of infrastructure in new areas.

Mohammad Aminul Hakim, chief executive officer of Amber IT Limited, said, “Our goal is to deliver reliable broadband internet services to every region of the country. We have already expanded our network to 400 upazilas in pursuit of that goal. We plan to reach 500 upazilas by June next year. We want people in both urban and remote areas to have equal access to modern internet services.”

According to the company, Saidpur in Rangpur Division was its 100th upazila, Haluaghat in Mymensingh was the 200th, and Char Fasson in Bhola, Barishal Division, was the 300th.
