- BDT 2,700 crore DPP formulation underway for MBSTU infrastructure
- HSC and equivalent exam results set for release on October 31
Education and Primary & Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milan has urged students to master artificial intelligence (AI) tools while maintaining robust domain-specific foundational knowledge. He cautioned that AI algorithms can generate incorrect outputs, making it difficult for users to identify inaccuracies without deep subject expertise.
The Minister made these observations on Tuesday, October 27, while addressing as chief guest at the 'Research Excellence and Strategic Partnership' program organized for 'University Day 2026' at Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) in Tangail.
Addressing the gathering, the Education Minister stated that the government is allocating two percent of GDP to the education sector to transform Bangladesh's population into technological and professional human capital. He stressed that zero tolerance will be observed regarding budget misallocation. He also revealed that a Development Project Proposal (DPP) worth approximately BDT 2,700 crore is currently being formulated to upgrade MBSTU's research and physical infrastructure.
Presided over by MBSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A. B. M. Shahidul Islam, the event featured addresses from State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku, Md. Abdus Salam Pintu and Abul Kalam Azad Siddique, alongside UGC Chairman Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed. A total of 30 faculty members and 19 students received research crests from the Minister.
During an interactive session with journalists following the event, the Minister officially announced that the HSC and equivalent examination results will be published on October 31 at 11:00 AM. He also shared that for the 2027 academic year, four new textbooks—including 'My Technical Education' and 'Learning with Happiness' for Grade 6—alongside supplementary traffic education materials, will be distributed on time. Experts note that incorporating technical education alongside AI awareness is essential for aligning national curricula with global tech standards.
Correspondent sources reported that the event highlighted data-driven higher education and technological research frameworks. Relevant authorities stated that maximizing output from allocated academic budgets remains crucial for digital human resource development.
