Enhancing supply chain transparency, tracking logistics datasets, and eliminating distribution bottlenecks have driven the launch of the 'Fertilizer Management Control Room'.

The development was reported on Saturday, September 12, through an official directive issued by Md. Maksudul Islam, Deputy Secretary of the Administration-1 wing of the Ministry of Agriculture. The ministry established emergency communications via telephone number 050351 alongside instant operational response mechanisms to curb grassroots distribution anomalies.

Field monitors will gather, verify, and catalog operational reports received across digital touchpoints, including telephone, mobile lines, e-mail, and WhatsApp. Standard operating procedures mandate documented shift turnovers. Digital surveillance protocols further require scanning print, broadcast, digital web portals, and social networks to cross-validate fertilizer supply indices across district, upazila, and union levels.

Operating from room 528 at the ministry until further directives, 27 dedicated operational teams have been formed. Each three-member unit comprises an officer, an administrative officer, and an office assistant. Operations run from September 11 to September 24 across two daily shifts: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, overseen by the Additional Secretary (Fertilizer Management and Inputs).

The control hub tracks field-level supply allocations, warehouse reserves, freight logistics, and end-point distribution datasets. It immediately flags transportation disruptions, market hoarding, illicit stockpiling, black-marketing, or price inflation to statutory enforcement bodies. Predictive shortfall risks across farming clusters are prioritized for inventory reallocation.

Direct grievances from farmers, certified dealers, and logistics operators are processed in coordination with district administrations and agricultural directorates. Teams record all daily entries, analytics, and field resolutions into master registries to generate daily and weekly performance briefings, maintaining technological oversight against supply interruptions.
