Advancing veterinary biomedical training, zoonotic disease surveillance, and livestock health protocols highlights the core focus of the newly approved leadership of the Mymensingh Veterinary Students' Association (MVSA).

The 197-member third executive committee for the 2026–2027 tenure was formally approved on Saturday, September 12. The ratification followed an online consultative assembly and unanimous approval from the Advisory Council, presided over by Dr. Shafiul Ahad Sardar, Convener of the Bangladesh Veterinary Association (BVA) and Chief Adviser of the Mymensingh Vets Club. Veterinary students from universities nationwide will execute operational and technical agendas over the next year.

Under the new hierarchy, Gono Bishwabidyalay student Md. Rafiqul Hasan Rakib was elected President, while Md. Naimur Rahman from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) took office as General Secretary. Md. Mehedi Hasan of Jashore University of Science and Technology assumed the Treasurer role. Taz Imtiaz Prithil of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University became Office Secretary, and Sajid Zobayer of Gono Bishwabidyalay was named Publicity Secretary.

The leadership structure includes 20 Vice Presidents, 32 Joint General Secretaries, and 20 Organizing Secretaries, alongside assistant secretaries, subject-matter leads, and executive members.

BAU secured the highest institutional presence with 54 representatives, making up approximately 27.4 percent of the committee. Gazipur Agricultural University accounted for 24 members, and Gono Bishwabidyalay contributed 21 members.

MVSA unifies veterinary medicine students onto a cohesive technical and professional platform. The association leads field initiatives delivering free mobile clinical services, introducing biosecurity standards, and executing preventive epidemiology campaigns against zoonotic pathogens in rural farming communities. //DBTech/AHB/SE/EIC//
