Since its release, Hollywood superstar Tom Holland’s latest film ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has been shaking up the global box office. The film has now made history by reaching the remarkable $500 million mark in North America in just seven days—the fastest any movie has ever reached that figure in North American box-office history.
Starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, the blockbuster has become the 23rd film to surpass $500 million at the North American box office. At the top of that list is 2015’s ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, which earned a total of $936.6 million. Previously, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, released in 2021, took 12 days to reach the $500 million mark. By comparison, the new film’s seven-day achievement is being viewed as a major success in the film industry.
According to Hollywood trade publication Deadline, the film earned $32.7 million in North America last Wednesday alone. That makes it the second-highest-grossing non-opening Wednesday in North American box-office history. Once again, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ remains at the top with $38 million.
Film analysts expect the movie’s winning streak to continue through the weekend. Its revenue could rise even further with screenings in premium large formats and IMAX.
The film has already reached another major milestone worldwide, crossing $1 billion in global box-office revenue. Breaking one record after another, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has now become one of the most talked-about and successful films of the year.
