Pakistani content creator and vlogger Rubina Maruf has married a Bangladeshi man. She announced the news in an emotional post on her verified Facebook page on Tuesday, drawing widespread attention on social media.
In her post, Rubina wrote that trusting life's journey had not always been easy, but accepting destiny ultimately brought her happiness. She said seeing the joy and pride on her parents' faces during the Nikah erased all her doubts.
She wrote, “Alhamdulillah for this new beginning, for this love that crossed borders, and for the blessing of marrying my Bangladeshi life partner. Today my heart is full, my parents are happy, and I am excited to begin this lifelong journey.”
Rubina comes from a Bangladeshi-origin family. Her father left Jessore in 1968 and later settled in Pakistan's Punjab, where he started a family. She has three sisters, while her only brother passed away at the age of 22, a loss she has previously described as deeply life-changing.
Currently employed in the corporate sector, Rubina is also a well-known vlogger and social media personality, creating content on travel, culture and personal experiences for audiences in both Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Her marriage to a Bangladeshi has quickly become a widely discussed example of cross-border cultural connection and people-to-people ties between the two neighbouring countries.
