A lavish diplomatic and corporate gathering commemorated Saudi Arabian Airlines' 46 years of continuous success and HSBC Bank's pivotal role as a partner in global connectivity in Bangladesh. The event, titled "Saudia and HSBC: Powering Global Connectivity," was held on Monday, July 27, at the Grand Ballroom of the five-star Sheraton Dhaka hotel in the capital.

The event showcased a unique blend of modern aviation technology and traditional culture, utilizing audio-visual presentations to highlight Saudia's 46-year evolution and its contributions to connecting expatriates. Digital displays at the ballroom's entrance illustrated Saudia Airlines' development over 46 years and its journey with modern aviation technology.

Afroza Khanam, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, attended as the chief guest. In her speech, she stated that Bangladesh is entering a new era in the aviation sector, with ongoing efforts to establish the country as a strong 'regional aviation hub' in South Asia. Our goal is to position Bangladesh as a regional aviation hub, connecting South Asia to the wider world.

Among other dignitaries present were Dr. Abdullah bin Jafer bin Ubaiyah, the Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh, and Tanvir Ghani, the Prime Minister's Special Assistant for Investment and Capital Market Affairs, along with other high-ranking officials and aviation experts.

The presence of senior officials from Saudia, HSBC Bank, and various organizations made this event more than just an anniversary celebration; it unveiled new possibilities for bilateral trade, investment, and enhanced air connectivity between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.

The primary focus of the event, rather than speeches or lengthy narratives, was to highlight the strength of the existing 'connectivity' between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. Audio-visual (AV) presentations showcased Saudia's unparalleled record over the past 46 years in safely transporting millions of ordinary passengers, expatriate workers, and Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to their destinations.
