Emphasis has been placed on transforming agriculture into a modern, technology-driven, and productive sector, while ensuring that newly developed technologies reach field-level farmers directly. Increasing investment in agricultural research and actively expanding tech solutions were highlighted as essential to securing national food security.

These remarks were made during the orientation program for newly admitted students at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) in the capital on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Speaking as the chief guest, the Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives stated, "Studying agriculture does not mean everyone must pursue government jobs. By leveraging tech-driven initiatives and innovative solutions, youth can become entrepreneurs, creating jobs while contributing to the national economy."

He emphasized developing skills, creativity, and tech-based ventures alongside academic degrees to tackle employment challenges for educated youth.

Prime Minister's Education Advisor Dr. Mahdi Amin noted, "Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University plays a vital role in boosting agricultural output and research. Fresh students will play a crucial role in building a self-sufficient Bangladesh through modern tech adoption."

Presided over by SAU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Md. Abdul Latif, the orientation was attended by Member of Parliament for Madaripur-3 Anisur Rahman, Member of Parliament for Reserved Women's Seat Sanjida Islam Tuli, alongside faculty members, students, and invited guests.
