Freelancer-based business solution platform Bizmaker organized a two-day campus activation program at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) on June 14 and 15, aiming to help students identify and develop their skills and understand how those skills can be applied in real-world professional environments.

According to the organizers, Bizmaker operates through a freelancer-driven model designed to bridge the gap between education and employment. The platform connects freelancers with businesses through a swipe-based matching system. The campus activation initiative focused on providing students with practical knowledge, market-relevant skills and greater awareness of potential career opportunities.

The event was held at a temporary venue on the university campus and was open to students, faculty members and university staff. Organizers said more than 1,000 participants attended the activities, which ran daily from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

As part of the program, Bizmaker Founder ASM Rafiul Haque conducted an interactive session titled “Passion to Possibility” at the university auditorium on June 15. During the session, he discussed the current state of freelancing, opportunities within the digital economy and ways students can transform their skills, interests and ideas into sustainable professional careers.

An interactive game was also organized, allowing participants to assess which freelancing or professional fields best matched their personalities, abilities and interests. The session additionally featured a live demonstration of the Bizmaker platform and mobile application, highlighting how skilled individuals can connect with business opportunities.

ASM Rafiul Haque said many students spend years acquiring knowledge but often struggle to understand how to apply it in practical settings. He noted that the initiative aims to help students identify their strengths, understand market demands and prepare for the realities of modern workplaces.

He added that campus-based engagement programs can encourage students to develop practical skills alongside academic learning, creating pathways to future economic opportunities.

According to Bizmaker, the JUST event is part of its ongoing youth-focused activities. The platform previously participated in the National Youth Festival at BRAC University and Flow Fest at Gulshan Club, where it engaged with students and young professionals interested in freelancing, entrepreneurship and skill development.

The company said it aims to strengthen Bangladesh’s freelance economy and expand opportunities for young people in the digital economy through technology, community engagement and skills development initiatives.
