EC Warns of Rumors Aimed at Discouraging Voters
The Election Commission (EC) has alleged that a certain group is spreading rumors and misinformation through social media and other channels in an attempt to discourage voters from going to polling stations for the referendum and the 13th National Parliamentary Election. The Commission has urged voters not to pay heed to such propaganda and to exercise their voting rights without fear.
In a warning message issued by the EC, it was clearly stated that the referendum and the 13th National Parliamentary Election will be held on Thursday, February 12, from 7:30am to 4:30pm in 299 parliamentary constituencies across Bangladesh (excluding Sherpur-3). Law enforcement agencies are actively working to ensure that voters can cast their ballots safely.
The EC has requested voters to ignore any kind of rumor or misleading propaganda and to vote without hesitation.
