BYD Bangladesh has launched its first structured apprenticeship certification initiative, bringing 10 young apprentices from five leading universities into its workforce as part of the inaugural phase of its “Youth Apprenticeship 2025” program. The initiative is positioned as the country’s first corporate-led, structured apprenticeship program aimed at developing future leadership in the automotive and new energy vehicle (NEV) sector.

The selected apprentices come from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), and United International University (UIU).

In a press release issued on Sunday, December 21, BYD Bangladesh said the program is designed to introduce university students directly to NEV architecture and BYD’s proprietary innovations, setting a new benchmark for industry-driven learning in Bangladesh.

According to the company, the Youth Apprenticeship program will continue as part of BYD Bangladesh’s long-term commitment to empowering the next generation of Bangladeshi engineers and high-potential talent for the evolving automotive industry.

During the program, participants received a blend of globally aligned theoretical training and hands-on exposure to cutting-edge automotive technologies and strategic industrial practices. The curriculum covered key aspects of modern mobility, including EV powertrains, hybrid systems, and next-generation vehicle technologies.

The sessions were led by BYD Bangladesh’s in-house trainer and product specialist Md. Rezwan Rahman, alongside product development executive Nakibul Islam. Special emphasis was placed on BYD’s signature Blade Battery technology, as well as essential modules on supply chain operations, vehicle connectivity, and safety protocols, providing apprentices with a comprehensive understanding of the NEV ecosystem.

Upon completion, the apprentices were awarded certification in recognition of their technical competencies and career readiness. Certificates were presented by Chief Marketing Officer Imtiaz Nausher and Head of Supply Chain Hossain Mohammad Imtiaz, who also offered guidance on professional development and future career pathways.

Commenting on the initiative, BYD Bangladesh CMO Imtiaz Nausher said the successful completion of the first phase marked a proud milestone for the company.

“This is a moment of great pride for us, as we are equipping talented young minds with the skills needed to lead Bangladesh’s green revolution. Empowering these promising youths with our world-class NEV expertise is not just about transferring technology—it is about building the foundation of a sustainable, future-ready mobility ecosystem,” he said.

With this initiative, BYD Bangladesh aims to strengthen local talent development while supporting the country’s transition toward clean energy and sustainable transportation.
