BUET's Silver Hawk declared champions of ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2025

The final round of the "ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2025," also known as the "Olympics of Programming" on the global stage of computer programming, was held in a festive atmosphere at the permanent campus of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT).

On Saturday, December 20th, amidst intense excitement and a battle of wits, 939 programmers from 313 teams across the country were engaged in solving complex algorithmic problems for 5 hours straight. The BUBT campus's International Conference Hall and designated labs were the venues for this nail-biting competition.

Outside of the IOI, BUET's Silver Hawk emerged as the champion in the competition; Dhaka University's Max Sank Cost Flow was the first runners-up, and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST)'s Godfather Inc. was the second runners-up.

Additionally, the International Islamic University Chittagong's DUWP became the champion in the girls' division, and BUBT Curly Brace secured the runners-up position.

At the divisional level, BUET Silver Hawks in Dhaka, a team from Haji Danesh Science and Technology University in Rangpur, RUET's Thribl No Brown in Rajshahi, SUST's Godfather Inc. in Sylhet, Netrokona University's ReBooters NEU in Mymensingh, KUET Pটল in Khulna, Comilla University's ReIgnite in Chittagong, and BU Terihards in Barisal became champions.

The Kamikaze team from IUT won two prizes for solving the problems first. BUET's Silver Hawk received three awards. Besides, Comilla University's Ignite, SUST's Godfather Inc., and Green University's Green Forces received problem-set-based awards.

In naming their teams creatively, Feni University's Equilibrium team emerged as the champion through student votes, while Premier University Chittagong's BUC Minhaj Sir Remembered became the first runners-up, and Eastern University's 'Pari Na Kichu' was the second runners-up.

After the competition, a grand prize distribution and closing ceremony was held. The chief guest and special guests handed over the champion trophies and prizes to the winners. 

The award ceremony was graced by Sheesh Haider Chowdhury, Secretary, ICT Division; Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad, Professor, BRAC University; Abdullah El Haq, Associate Director, ICPC Dhaka Region; Jafrul Alam Khan, Director, Bangladesh Computer Council; Shahriar Manzur, former Judge of ICPC; Professor Abu Saleh, BUBT Trust Vice Chairman; and Md. Saifur Rahman, Chairman, CSE Department, BUBT.

Professor Dr. ABM Shawkat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of BUBT, presided over the event. Nafiur Karim, Senior System Analyst at Dynamic Solution Innovators Limited, spoke on behalf of the sponsors.

During the event, Professor Dr. ABM Shawkat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of BUBT, stated that BUBT is proud to have successfully organised a competition of international standards. He expressed his belief that the winners would further elevate Bangladesh's flag on the world stage.

Speakers at the event highly praised the relentless spirit of the young generation in the development of the country's technology sector. Therap (BD) Ltd. was the Gold Sponsor for this edition. Additionally, the event was successfully completed with the overall cooperation of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) and ICT Division Bangladesh.

Notably, the participation of a record number of contestants in this edition was remarkable. Based on the final results, the top-ranking teams will get the opportunity to represent Bangladesh in the upcoming ICPC World Finals.
