Civil Creativity: CUET Hosts Competitive Envision 2.0 Festival

Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) recently hosted a two-day competitive festival, Envision 2.0, organized by the CUET chapter of the research and innovation-focused organization, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

The event took place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at CUET’s central auditorium and featured a range of competitions, including the AutoCAD contest (Cadzilla), CaseQuest, research paper competitions, G-Coaster challenges, Mechanics Olympiad, sustainable problem-solving exercises, and presentation contests.

The festival was inaugurated by CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiya, with special guests including Professor Dr. Md. Riaz Akhtar Malik, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, and Professor Dr. Ayesha Akhtar, Faculty Advisor of the ASCE Student Chapter CUET and member of the Civil Engineering Department.

Other notable attendees included Professor Dr. G.M. Sadikul Islam, Faculty Advisor of ASCE, SME moderator Md. Aminul Islam, Executive Engineer of LGED Mohammad Safikul Islam (Khoka), and engineers and representatives from EQUITY.

The event began with a welcome address by General Secretary Md. Shafkatul Islam and concluded with closing remarks from ASCE Student Chapter CUET President Abdul Wadud Shimul. In his speech, he said, “CUET’s ASCE chapter annually organizes competitions such as ODC and Envision to enhance students’ skills. These contests play a vital role in fostering their expertise, research interest, and practical experience.”

The program was hosted by second-year civil engineering students Fahim Nuzhat Jahin and Muhatasim Fuad Hridoy.
