Banglalink Backs ‘Green Bangladesh’ with Nationwide Tree Plantation Drive

Innovative digital operator Banglalink has partnered with the Prokriti O Jibon Foundation to implement the tree plantation and seedling distribution program titled Shobuje Shajai Bangladesh (Adorning Bangladesh with Greenery) across 57 districts. Under this initiative, tree plantation activities have so far been carried out in 45 districts. Alongside a large-scale event in Uttara, more than 62,400 saplings have been planted and distributed nationwide. The initiative has inspired widespread enthusiasm through the active participation of Banglalink’s regional teams, employees, students, and local communities. The program is set to conclude on September 15 with the completion of activities in the remaining districts.
Speaking about the initiative, Banglalink’s Deputy CEO, Zahrat Adib Chowdhury, said, “Environmental responsibility is a crucial part of Banglalink’s ESG strategy. Supporting a tree plantation initiative is not only about planting saplings but also about uniting communities, raising awareness, and ensuring a sustainable future for the next generation. We are proud to stand alongside local communities in building a greener Bangladesh. The combination of innovation and responsibility is key to protecting the planet. Through such initiatives, Banglalink reaffirms its commitment to the environment and society.”
Chairman of Prokriti O Jibon Foundation, Abdul Muqeed Mojumdar Babu, remarked, “Tree plantation is not merely about planting saplings; such initiatives foster awareness, inspire young generations, and cultivate a culture of responsibility for building a greener future. By encouraging youth to take responsibility for protecting nature, we are contributing to a green, healthy, and sustainable Bangladesh. Together, we are not only planting trees but also sowing hope for the next generation.”
In Uttara, around 100 Banglalink employees joined hands with students of Sholahati Government Primary School to plant and distribute saplings in collaboration with the Prokriti O Jibon Foundation and Dhaka North City Corporation.
