Two years after establishing its Tier-3 data infrastructure, Exentec—a subsidiary of Robi Axiata PLC—has officially launched its new cloud platform under the name “Exentec Cloud.” The service was inaugurated on Tuesday at the company’s headquarters in Dhaka, in a press meet attended by senior journalists and technology editors.

The inauguration was formally conducted by Secretary of the ICT Division, Shish Haider Chowdhury. During the event, the infrastructure, capabilities, and national significance of the platform were elaborately presented.

According to officials, “Exentec Cloud is Bangladesh’s first locally hosted enterprise cloud that meets global standards of reliability, security, and scalability.” The platform is fully managed within the country, with a Tier-4 certified data center based in Jashore and additional hosting support in Bhulta. Local operation ensures full control over data, which is hailed as a major step forward for Bangladesh’s digital economy and a milestone in indigenous tech capabilities.

Adil Hossain Nobel, Managing Director and CEO of Exentec PLC, stated, “For many years, enterprises in Bangladesh had to rely on foreign-hosted cloud platforms, which raised concerns over data sovereignty, latency, compliance, and cost. Exentec Cloud addresses these challenges. It is local, robust, and built to support the country’s economic growth in the coming decade.”

Robi’s Company Secretary Shahed Alam and Chief Commercial Officer A.K.M. Nazmul Islam were also present at the event. In his remarks, Shahed Alam called for favorable government policies to support cloud infrastructure and services in the country.

He added, “With this service, commercial entities in Bangladesh will have greater convenience in retaining data locally. We are deploying the highest level of technology to ensure data security. This service is also being launched with SMEs and cottage industries in mind. Most banks in the country could greatly benefit from this cloud platform.”
