U.S. e-commerce giant Amazon has unveiled plans to invest £40 billion (approximately $54 billion) in the United Kingdom over the next three years, aiming to generate thousands of new jobs. The announcement was reported by Reuters.

The extensive investment strategy includes the construction of two state-of-the-art warehouses in the East Midlands, the establishment of new hubs in Hull and Northampton, expansion and modernization across more than 100 existing sites, the addition of two new buildings at Amazon’s corporate headquarters in London, and the redevelopment of the Bray Film Studios.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcomed the announcement, calling it “a huge vote of confidence in the UK as the best place to do business.”

The total investment figure also includes a previously announced £8 billion commitment from Amazon’s cloud division, which will be allocated toward building and maintaining data centers between 2024 and 2028.
