JUST’s Veterinary Faculty Gains BVC Registration

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has received formal registration from the Bangladesh Veterinary Council (BVC). As a result, graduates from the faculty will now be officially recognized as professional veterinarians both at home and abroad.
The registration was confirmed in a letter signed by Dr. Gopal Chandra Biswas, Acting Registrar of the BVC, on Monday, September 8. Stakeholders expressed hope that this recognition would place JUST’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in a stronger position in veterinary education and research in the country, while also contributing significantly to the protection of livestock and public health.
JUST Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid said, “For a long time, we had been working toward securing BVC registration for JUST’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. At last, the faculty has achieved it. I believe this will enable students to advance further in their studies and research. The faculty will be modernized so that students can develop into skilled doctors. The process of procuring advanced equipment is already underway to further enrich the faculty’s laboratories.”
Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Dr. Md. Ziaul Amin, said, “We extend our gratitude to the Bangladesh Veterinary Council for granting official registration to JUST’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. This registration will take effect from the graduates of the faculty’s third batch. It will enable students to develop into truly competent veterinary doctors. With this recognition, they will not only have employment opportunities in public and private institutions but also play a more effective role in the advancement of the livestock sector.”
