Following the recent incident involving an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has initiated heightened inspections of its entire Dreamliner fleet as a precautionary measure. The airline currently operates six Boeing 787 aircraft and has confirmed its readiness to implement any maintenance directives issued by the manufacturer, Boeing, after the ongoing investigation concludes.

Rawsan Kabir, General Manager (Public Relations) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, stated, “Biman has begun conducting the necessary tests to assess the condition of critical systems in all its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. These systems include engine fuel systems, electronic engine controls, electrical power, hydraulic systems, air conditioning, flight control systems, among others. Power assurance checks of the engines are also being carried out.”

He further added that Biman’s fleet includes four Boeing 787-8 and two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, all of which are actively flying to various international destinations.

“The airline’s engineering department maintains these aircraft in accordance with an Aircraft Maintenance Program,” he said. “This program clearly outlines each maintenance task, its scheduled timeline, and procedures. It is developed in line with Boeing’s Maintenance Planning Document, the Type Certificate Holder's specifications, and regulatory requirements. The program is also approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.”

Biman has emphasized its commitment to passenger safety and operational integrity through proactive steps, reaffirming that it will implement any further safety instructions from Boeing without delay.
