ZeniMax QA Workers Zero In on Historic Union Deal with Microsoft

Quality assurance (QA) workers at ZeniMax, a video game development company, have reached a landmark agreement with Microsoft—their first union contract since the tech giant acquired the studio in 2021. Around 300 employees organized under the Communications Workers of America (CWA) have been negotiating with Microsoft for the past two years. The development was first reported by TechCrunch.

According to Bloomberg, the proposed agreement includes a 13.5% pay raise effective from July 1, along with a pre-announced policy on the use of artificial intelligence. A ratification vote on the contract is scheduled for June 20.

In a statement, QA worker and union representative Paige Branson said, “This agreement is not only a historic win for us today, but for future workers in the game industry as well.”

Currently, the CWA represents over 2,000 workers within Microsoft.
