Himi Hits Hundred: Actress Sets Record with Over 100 Dramas Crossing 10 Million Views

Actress Jannatul Sumaiya Himi, who transitioned from modeling to acting, has made history on YouTube by becoming the first Bangladeshi actress to have over a hundred of her television dramas each surpass 10 million views. A total of 109 of her dramas have reached this milestone, making her a record-holder in the Bangladeshi drama industry.

Actor Niloy Alamgir congratulated Himi with a celebratory post on social media. Sharing a graphic image, he wrote, “Congratulations Jannatul Sumaiya Himi. For the first time in the history of the drama industry, 109 dramas starring Jannatul Sumaiya Himi have each reached 10 million views.”

The news has triggered an outpouring of congratulatory messages for Himi. A fan named Raihan Kabir commented, “She is one of my favorite actresses. And she pairs really well with Niloy bhai.” Masum Ahmed wrote, “Congratulations to both of you,” while another fan added, “I hope you continue to give us more quality dramas.” A user named Sumi said, “Mashallah, congratulations. I really love Himi apu’s dramas.” The comment section has since been flooded with praise and admiration.

Recently, the single-episode drama Shoshurbari-tey Eid (Eid at the In-laws’ House), directed by Mohin Khan and starring Himi alongside Niloy Alamgir, surpassed the view count of the widely acclaimed telefilm Boro Chhele (The Eldest Son), becoming the most viewed Bangla drama on YouTube. Despite her record-breaking viewership, Himi remains modest about measuring success through numbers. In an interview, she said, “I don’t act for views or money.”

Jannatul Sumaiya Himi began her acting career after winning the title of Rong–RTV Twenty Twenty Colors Model Search in 2014. Her on-screen partnership with Niloy Alamgir has become one of the most popular pairings in Bangladeshi television. In a short time, Himi has carved out a strong presence in the industry.

Although primarily known for her work in television, Himi has also received classical training in Nazrul Sangeet from Chhayanaut. She studied under legendary singer Ferdous Ara and initially began her musical journey under the tutelage of Sadhana Mitra. Beyond television, she has acted in a Kolkata-based film, further expanding her artistic footprint.
