Young Talents Triumph at Jashore Science & Technology University’s Annual Athletics Meet
The three‑day Annual Sports & Inter‑Department Athletics Competition 2025 at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) drew to a vibrant close on Wednesday afternoon, celebrating its motto “Youth Flourishes Through Sport.”
The closing and prize‑giving ceremony was held at the central stadium at 3:30 pm, with Treasurer Prof. Dr. Hossain Al‑Mamun presiding as guest of honour. Faculty, students, officers and staff had competed across a dozen track‑and‑field events since 21 April.
Spectators were treated to photo‑finish sprints in the men’s and women’s 100 m, a hotly contested 800 m mixed relay and several novelty races before medals and trophies were presented to the winners.
Addressing the gathering, Director of Physical Education Dr. Md. Rafiul Hasan thanked competitors and volunteers for “showcasing the university’s spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition.” Engineering & Technology Dean Dr. Md. Amzad Hossain, Munshi Meherullah Hall Provost Dr. Abdur Rouf Sarkar, Assistant Director Abdul Wahed and senior instructors Ujjal Chandra Sutradhar, Md. Shahinur Rahman, Md. Raihan Rakib and Md. Jahangir Alam were among the officials in attendance.
Organisers said the meet—held under bright skies and cheered on by packed sidelines—aims to reinforce physical fitness and unity on campus, adding that preparations for next year’s edition are already under way.
