Students and Staff Expelled Over Exam Malpractice By Using Bluetooth-enabled Headphones
Twelve individuals—including eleven students and one exam center secretary—were expelled for attempting to use unfair means during the Dakhil examination at Shyamnagar in Satkhira. The incident took place on Thursday (April 17) during the mathematics examination at the Central Darul Uloom Kamil Madrasa center in the municipality.
Of the 11 students expelled, nine were male and two female. They were caught using mobile phones with Bluetooth-enabled headphones in an attempt to cheat. In addition, ten teachers from various institutions were relieved of duty for negligence and failure to maintain proper examination protocol in the exam hall.
The center secretary, Mawlana Ozairul Islam, and a venue secretary were also removed from their posts for failing to ensure a fair and cheating-free examination environment and allegedly allowing students to engage in malpractice.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al Rifat stated, “Some students used mobile Bluetooth headphones with specific techniques inside the exam hall. Additionally, several students were caught attempting to cheat, and the teachers on duty were found to be clearly negligent. Based on direct evidence, we have taken necessary disciplinary actions. Teachers found involved will not be permitted to serve again this year.”
According to center sources, 563 students were scheduled to sit for the mathematics examination at the center, though 43 were absent on the day of the incident.
