Bangladeshi-origin computer scientist and engineer Md. Atikur Rahman has been re-elected as Board Member and Secretary of the Swedish Cricket Federation (Svenska Cricketförbundet) for the 2025–2029 term. The election took place on April 5 during the federation’s Annual General Meeting held in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Out of the 82 delegates who voted, Atikur Rahman, running under the panel led by Tariq Juwak, secured the highest number of individual votes—a total of 65—confirming his position. He originally made history in 2022 as the first Bangladeshi-Swedish citizen elected as the Secretary of the Swedish Cricket Federation.

Upon re-election, Atikur Rahman stated, “Being re-elected, we will continue working together to make cricket stronger and more widespread in Sweden. The roots of cricket are strong here, and I am committed to further developing the game and gaining broader recognition for it.”

Swedish Cricket Federation President Tariq Juwak commented, “We are pleased to have Atikur Rahman once again as a board member. He brings exceptional experience and dedication to the development of Swedish cricket, and his deep knowledge of the game will further enrich our board’s activities.”

Atikur moved to Sweden in 2010 for higher studies and earned a Master’s degree in Informatics from the University of Borås. He is also a founding member and board member of the Borås Cricket Club. Currently, he serves as an IT Project Manager at Logent Group, Sweden.
