Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) inaugurated a three-day training workshop titled ‘Training on Professional Development for Junior Faculty’ on Monday (October 26, 2026). Organized by the university's Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the program aims to enhance the pedagogical skills, research capabilities, and academic career trajectories of new and junior faculty members across various departments. The opening ceremony took place at 9:00 AM in the IQAC Conference Room located within the Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building, under the chairmanship of JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Rearul Kabir.

Professor Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman Sarkar, Vice-Chancellor of Khulna Agricultural University (KAU), graced the occasion as the chief guest and key resource person. Special guests included JUST Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan, Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Faruq Hasan, and Bangladesh Agricultural University Professor Dr. Md. Hamadur Rahman.

Delivering his presidential address, JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Rearul Kabir emphasized that regular training is indispensable to maintaining institutional educational standards. He noted that transitioning from a student to a faculty member is a major milestone requiring responsible stewardship in classroom management, research methodology, and academic integrity. He urged young educators to become role models for students through transparency, punctuality, and professional ethics.

Chief Guest Professor Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman Sarkar highlighted that aligning national higher education with global standards requires establishing international-caliber research environments across universities. He asserted that transforming teaching methodologies and conducting high-impact research are essential for supporting the country's long-term target of reaching a one-trillion-dollar GDP economy. He called on young faculty to lead efforts in elevating university standing in international rankings.

In his address as special guest, JUST Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan described teaching as a noble passion rather than a mere routine job, urging teachers to approach their duties with sincerity to inspire students.

The event also featured special remarks from JUST Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Faruq Hasan and BAU Professor Dr. Md. Hamadur Rahman. IQAC Director Professor Dr. Md. Mir Mosharraf Hossain delivered the welcome address, while IQAC Additional Director Dr. Farhana Yasmin moderated the proceedings.
