PADAKHEP Hosts Awareness Event on Preventing Violence

Integrating advanced cyber-safeguarding protocols and digital protection awareness into workplace ethics, Padakhep organized an awareness event titled 'Janbo, Janabo, Shohingshota Thamabo' to prevent gender-based violence and ensure a safe, supportive, and dignified workplace environment. The event took place today, Tuesday (22 September), at Padakhep ’s head office, with employees participating both in person and online.
The program stressed reinforcing awareness regarding gender-based violence, cyberbullying, cyber harassment, and safe parenting in the digital age. Discussions covered identifying types and early indicators of violence, addressing prevailing misconceptions, mitigating potential risks in physical and online spaces, and navigating legal rights and protection frameworks for victims. The importance of responsible parenting in creating safe family and societal ecosystems was also highlighted.
Inaugurating the event, Padakhep Founder and President A.B.M Siddique remarked, "The first step in preventing violence is understanding its types and early warning signs. Acting responsibly by reporting to appropriate channels and supporting victims is essential to building a secure environment."
Shazib Hasnat, Joint Director of Microfinance Operations and Head of Safeguarding at Padakhep , presented key aspects of safeguarding and gender violence. He emphasized remaining vigilant about early risk indicators and upholding individual responsibility to maintain workplace safety.
Special guest speaker Mst. Liza Begum, PSC, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women Support and Investigation Division, DMP), detailed legal protection rights and systematic complaint processes for victims. She educated participants on utilizing national helpline technologies, including emergency numbers 999 and 109, for immediate assistance.
Moderated by Ummay Sumaiya Mutiatur Rasul, Joint Director of Brand & Communications at Padakhep , the initiative aims to strengthen a culture of mutual respect, safety, and accountability across the organization.
