Transforming university-grade research prototypes into scalable industrial applications took center stage at the national 'Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026'.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman officially inaugurated the three-day exhibition (September 12–14) at the Novo Theatre in Dhaka on Saturday morning. The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, featuring active participation from Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR).

Delivering the keynote address, the Prime Minister urged researchers to transition domestic laboratory discoveries into mainstream commercial production.

BRUR Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shawkat Ali attended the event, presenting technical research projects designed by students and faculty researchers. "Begum Rokeya University remains committed to showcasing our academic innovations nationally and globally," the Vice-Chancellor said. He added, "National technological and economic progress accelerates when laboratory inventions enter commercial markets. This fair provides an exceptional platform for our young researchers to scale their networks." Assistant Director of BRUR Public Relations, Information and Publications Department Md. Eheteramul Huq confirmed the details.

The university is exhibiting four selected research prototypes at the venue: Silicon-based perovskite solar cells, Agritrace BD, Carbon Setu, and Deshguard AI.

BRUR Registrar (Additional Charge) Professor Dr. Md. Ferdous Rahman, Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman of Computer Science and Engineering, Professor Dr. Md. Emdadul Huq of Disaster Science and Management, and Professor Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman of Physics were also present.
