BRAC Connects Research With Future Computing

BRAC University hosted CSE Research Day 2026 to explore emerging directions in computing research and the practical application of technology across disciplines.

Organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the day-long event brought together students, faculty members, researchers and industry professionals to discuss how computing research can generate solutions for real-world challenges.

A key focus of the event was interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of computer science methodologies with fields including public health, biotechnology, engineering and applied sciences.

Panel discussions, expert sessions and workshops covered a broad range of topics including artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, bioinformatics, usable security, privacy, computer vision, robotics, blockchain, quantum computing, human–computer interaction and ICT for development.

A dedicated session on software engineering, internships and academic projects highlighted industry expectations, professional readiness and approaches to transforming academic work into practical portfolios.

Additional sessions introduced students to ongoing work in language technologies, healthcare innovation, biological data analysis, secure computing and privacy-focused research.

Interactive workshops under the Human–Computer Interaction and ICT for Development tracks encouraged participants to identify practical problems, formulate research ideas and translate concepts into applied projects.

The closing session recognised student achievement through the Best Thesis Award 2025 and emphasised research as a catalyst for technological advancement and social impact.
