Prime Minister Unveils Commemorative Postage Stamp Marking FIFA World Cup 2026

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday unveiled a commemorative postage stamp to mark the FIFA World Cup 2026.

At a ceremony held at his office in the National Parliament Secretariat, the Prime Minister formally released a Tk 10 commemorative postage stamp, along with a Tk 50 souvenir sheet with envelope and a Tk 5 data card. A special cancellation seal was also used on the occasion.

The event was attended by Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam, Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division Bilkis Jahan Rimi, Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Atikur Rahman Rumon, and Additional Director General of the Department of Posts S. M. Harunur Rashid.

The commemorative stamp, souvenir sheet and data card have been issued to celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2026 and to commemorate one of the world's most prestigious sporting events. The collectibles are also expected to attract significant interest from philatelists and sports enthusiasts alike.
