How to Install iOS 27 Developer Beta on Your iPhone
Following the announcement of iOS 27 at Monday’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026, Apple has already released the developer beta version for iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches, allowing enthusiasts to try new features months before the public rollout expected in September or October.
The beta introduces several new capabilities, including enhanced AI-powered Siri features and performance improvements. However, Apple advises users to be cautious, as beta software is still under development and may contain bugs that affect battery life, app performance, and overall device stability.
For that reason, users are encouraged to install the beta on a secondary device rather than their primary iPhone and to create a complete backup before proceeding.
Creating a Free Apple Developer Account
To access the developer beta, users must first enroll in Apple’s developer program. The process can be completed free of charge:
- Download the official Apple Developer app from the App Store.
- Open the app, navigate to the Account section, and sign in using an Apple ID with two-factor authentication enabled.
- Review the developer agreement and tap Enroll Now.
- Provide the required personal information and verify your identity using a government-issued ID.
- Select Individual as the account type.
- Accept the license agreement and complete the subscription process.
Users should note that access to developer beta releases does not require the paid $99 annual developer membership.
Installing the iOS 27 Developer Beta
After enrollment, restart the device and follow these steps:
- Open Settings.
- Go to General > Software Update.
- Tap Beta Updates.
- Select iOS 27 Developer Beta.
- Return to the previous screen and tap Download and Install.
The beta update will then begin downloading and installing on the device.
Siri AI Access Requires Registration
Apple has also introduced a new AI-enhanced Siri experience. After installing iOS 27, users interested in testing the feature must join a waitlist within the Siri settings interface.
Once Apple expands access to additional testers, eligible users will receive a notification inviting them to activate the new AI-powered assistant.
Those who prefer a more stable testing experience may choose to wait for Apple’s public beta program, which is expected to launch in July or August.
