Instagram Interruption Improves Gradually in the US
Instagram services, which were temporarily down for thousands of users across the United States, have gradually started returning to normal. According to outage-tracking website Downdetector, the number of reports dropped to 849 by 12:10 p.m. local time on Wednesday, a significant decline from the peak of 16,747 during the outage. The report was published by Reuters.
Downdetector collects and analyzes status reports submitted by users to identify service disruptions. However, the exact cause behind the interruption on Instagram remains undisclosed.
Meta Platforms, the parent company of Instagram, declined to comment when contacted by Reuters.
Sudden service outages across major social media platforms have become increasingly frequent in recent times, raising concerns among users. The disruption of Instagram—one of the world’s most widely used photo and video sharing platforms—significantly impacted user activity and engagement during the downtime.
