Faridpur Woman Wins Gold Necklace in Nagad Remittance Campaign
Bannya Khatun of Madhukhali upazila in Faridpur has become the first winner of the ‘Har Na Mana Har’ campaign launched by Nagad to encourage expatriate Bangladeshis to send remittances through legal channels. She won the prize after receiving remittance sent by her Dubai-based husband, Md. Farid, through Nagad.
On Saturday, 14 March, Nagad authorities said that a popular actress recently visited Bannya Khatun’s home in Madhukhali, Faridpur, and handed over a gold necklace as the prize. Representatives of Nagad were also present on the occasion.
After receiving the prize, family members connected with Farid in Dubai via video call. He said he was aware that such a campaign was being run by Nagad, but had never imagined that his own family would win the gold necklace. He also mentioned that he regularly sends remittances to Bangladesh through Nagad.
Nagad is working to ensure that money sent by expatriates reaches their families in the country quickly and securely. Ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, the ‘Har Na Mana Har’ campaign has been launched to bring additional joy to the families of expatriates. Under this campaign, if expatriates send at least Tk 10,000 in remittance to Bangladesh through Nagad, their family members in the country will have the opportunity to win a gold necklace.
In this regard, the Chief Marketing Officer of Nagad said expatriate Bangladeshis are making significant contributions not only to their families but also to the country’s economy by sending their hard-earned money home. The ‘Har Na Mana Har’ campaign has been launched to make this process more joyful ahead of Eid.
