Spy-Thriller Series ‘Cactus’ to Stream on Chorki This Eid
A spy-thriller series titled Cactus, starring Mehazabien Chowdhury and Pritom Hasan, will be released on the OTT platform Chorki during Eid-ul-Fitr. Directed by Shihab Shaheen, the series will be available for viewers from 12:00 am on 17 March (18 March).
The trailer for the series was unveiled on the afternoon of 13 March. From the trailer, it appears that the story of Cactus revolves around a hacker named Mansiv. The character of Mansiv is portrayed by Pritom Hasan. Although he is seen as a prisoner in the trailer, a national crisis compels the government to bring him back into the field of hacking to help address the situation.
Pritom Hasan said that the character Mansiv has a journey, and viewers will be eager to see where that journey ultimately leads. Meanwhile, popular actress Mehazabien Chowdhury plays the role of Anura. In this series, she appears in a completely new avatar—strong, confident, and in an action-oriented look. The trailer also suggests that the character carries an element of mystery.
Mehazabien said, “My character in this series is extremely interesting. I have not performed action at this level before.”
The series has been directed by filmmaker Shihab Shaheen, who said that Cactus is intended to be a production of global standard. According to him, the story has been conceived on a much broader scale.
Redwan Rony, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Chorki, said, “Chorki has been releasing series for audiences during Eid, and each time viewers have embraced and popularized those contents. We hope Cactus will be no exception. We have tried our best to present an intelligent series to the audience.”
The story of Cactus has been written by Shihab Shaheen, Al-Amin-Hasan Nirjhor, Ador Rahman, Asaduzzaman Abir, and Rezwan Kabir. The screenplay has been written by Shihab Shaheen.
Besides Mehazabien and Pritom, the cast also includes Munira Yusuf Memy, Manash Bandopadhyay, Naziba Bashar, Salauddin Lavlu, Shahadat Hossain, Arifin Zilani, Zahidul Haque Apu, and Sanjida Tasnim. The series’ action direction has been handled by Edward Gomez.
