IVAC Launches New Visa Appointment System with Stepwise Guidelines
The Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) has introduced a new appointment management system for Indian visa applicants, marking a significant change in the scheduling process. The update came into effect on 5 February, with the sign-up process beginning at 12:00 pm and appointment slot bookings scheduled to open later that evening at 6:00 pm. Under the new system, applicants can book slots for 8 February onwards.
According to IVAC, appointments for the following day will be available from 6:00 pm the previous evening, provided applicants complete the sign-up and upload necessary documents by 5:30 pm that day. Failure to complete this process within the stipulated timeframe will prevent appointment booking.
IVAC had earlier notified applicants that the new appointment management system would go live on Thursday and the relevant link would be available on the official IVAC website. All appointments from 8 February onwards must be booked through this updated system. Applicants are urged to carefully follow the provided instructions to successfully secure their appointments.
The system also incorporates strict measures to prevent fraudulent bookings. Applicants must sign up using the same email address provided in their visa application web file. During sign-up, two OTPs are sent—one via email and another via SMS—to verify the email and mobile number. After verification, applicants must complete the sign-up by submitting personal information.
Once signed up, users log in using their mobile number and password, followed by an OTP sent to the mobile, which then grants access to the appointment page. Here, applicants must first upload the required documents, which will automatically populate their information in the system. Only after completing this step can they wait for the appointment slots to open.
At 6:00 pm, when appointment slots become available, applicants must log in again. The system will display a pre-selected appointment slot for the next day, with an option to change the slot once if needed. After confirming the appointment, applicants must pay the required fee according to the type of visa.
IVAC has emphasized adherence to these procedures to avoid complications and ensure smooth processing for all applicants.
