RUET Admission Tests Begin on 23 January

Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) will hold its first-year undergraduate admission test for the 2025–26 academic session on 23 January. For the first time, to facilitate students, the examination will be conducted using identical question papers at both the RUET campus and the BUET centre.

The information was announced in a press release issued by RUET’s Public Relations Office on Sunday, 16 November. According to the notice, the admission test will be conducted in the MCQ format. Against RUET’s 1,200-plus seats, a total of 19,000 students will be allowed to sit for the exam.

For eligibility, applicants must have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent examination in 2022 or 2023 from any general education board, the Madrasah Education Board, or the Technical Education Board, with a minimum GPA of 4.0 or an equivalent grade.

Additionally, candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examination in 2025 from any of the aforementioned boards with a minimum GPA of 5.0 or an equivalent grade. They must also obtain at least a combined GP of 14 in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Candidates holding GCE ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level qualifications must have secured at least grade ‘B’ in five subjects at the ‘O’ Level. At the ‘A’ Level, they must pass Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry individually with at least grade ‘B’ in each subject. Furthermore, their ‘A’ Level certificate must be awarded in November 2024 or later.

Decisions regarding any admission-related matters will be made in the meeting of the Steering Committee constituted for the admission examination.
