Amid the growing challenges and opportunities posed by AI and generative technologies like GPT, fifty young men and women were trained in modern event management at a hands-on workshop conducted by Future Skills Institute — the first of its kind in Bangladesh. The workshop, aimed at entrepreneurs, volunteers, and students already involved in various initiatives, concluded with participants receiving official certificates of completion.

Held on Saturday, July 19, at the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in Banglamotor, Dhaka, the workshop emphasized how AI is increasingly simplifying many aspects of event management. At the same time, speakers noted that despite technological advances, human creativity and involvement remain irreplaceable. Participants were encouraged to blend academic learning with real-life experiences to build the necessary skills for managing events efficiently in the AI era.

Through practical training, attendees learned how AI can assist in developing fundamental concepts, planning, budgeting, logistical coordination, and teamwork. These lessons were delivered by Jakaria Habib Pilot, Director of Ad-Pro Communications Ltd.; Irshadul Haque, Director of Brand Solution Ltd.; and S.M. Al Mahmud, CEO of Printagraphy — each drawing from real-life experiences to guide participants.

The day-long training ran from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and included eight interactive sessions. Professional trainers explored various aspects of event planning and execution, engaging attendees directly in real-life scenarios. Many participants expressed their excitement and gratitude for being a part of such a practical and forward-thinking training program. They also called for more workshops of this nature, conducted at a larger scale across the country to enhance youth capabilities nationwide.

“In today’s world, event management has grown into a vital career and entrepreneurial sector,” said trainer Jakaria Habib Pilot. “This type of training is extremely beneficial for the youth.”

Abdullah Hasan, Executive Director of Future Skills Institute, remarked, “Event management has witnessed rapid growth in recent years, but there’s still a lack of initiatives to build skilled manpower. Today’s session is just the beginning — we plan to offer more trainings in the future.”

Mohammad Mohsin, Director of Media Mix Communications — a supporting partner in the initiative — stated, “Our agency has worked in both development and corporate sectors for over a decade. Yet, we lack institutional systems to enhance workforce skills in this domain.”
