Adobe Advances Automation: AI Agents Coming to Photoshop and Premiere Pro
Adobe has announced the introduction of new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered agents in its flagship software tools, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. In a blog post, Eli Greenfield, Adobe’s Chief Technology Officer for Digital Media, revealed that the agents will analyze images and videos to suggest relevant edits—and even carry them out automatically. The news was first reported by The Verge.
In Photoshop, the "Creative Agent" will appear in a new floating action panel, offering suggestions such as removing people from the background or applying a blur effect. Users will be able to execute these edits using simple natural language commands.
A similar agent will be integrated into Premiere Pro, helping users with tasks like selecting video clips, adjusting color, and mixing audio—streamlining complex video editing processes.
Adobe emphasized that while AI will assist with editing, “the creative spark will still belong to the human,” underscoring the company’s commitment to empowering rather than replacing creative professionals.
The first of these agents is set to be unveiled at Adobe MAX in London on April 24.
