UITS Hosts Seminar on OBE and Excellence in Teaching

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) recently organized a two-day seminar titled “Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (ETL)” for newly appointed faculty members. The seminar took place in the university's conference room on March 5-6, with the participation of twenty faculty members from the departments of English, Law, Business Studies, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Pharmacy, and Civil Engineering.

According to a press release issued on Wednesday, UITS Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hasan Bhuiyan attended the event as the chief guest. UITS Treasurer Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed participated as a special guest.

The seminar was presided over by Engineer Md. Safayet Hossain, Director of IQAC. Additionally, Shamima Akter, Additional Director of IQAC and Assistant Professor of Marketing in the Department of Business Studies, delivered a presentation on the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) and conducted the seminar. Assistant Professor Md. Hasan Imam from the Department of Civil Engineering presented on "Teaching and Learning Pedagogy."

The seminar covered essential topics, including the principles of OBE, effective teaching methodologies, assessment strategies, and the implementation of BNQF. Participants gained valuable insights and practical knowledge to enhance their teaching effectiveness and contribute to the academic excellence of UITS.
