Anthropic Files for IPO, Eyes Potential $2 Trillion Valuation
Leading artificial intelligence research company Anthropic has officially filed for an initial public offering (IPO). The company has submitted its Form S-1 registration statement to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to the filing, the company is set to list on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol ‘ANT’.
Although the number of shares and proposed initial offering price have yet to be determined, Anthropic’s overall market valuation is projected to reach approximately $2 trillion when it makes its stock market debut around mid-November this year.
Financial Position and Explosive Revenue Growth
According to the submitted documents, as of June 30, 2026, Anthropic had raised a total of $141.1 billion in capital, including $112.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents. The company’s revenue for the quarter ended in June this year increased by 1,368 per cent year over year.
However, spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure and computing also rose by 300 per cent during the same period. The company had previously reported an operating loss of $8 billion last year. Despite these costs, the extraordinary revenue growth highlights the intense global demand for AI-powered commercial services.
Risk Warnings and Commitment to Safe AI Development
Despite being one of the leading companies in the AI industry, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has consistently spoken out against the uncontrolled expansion of the technology. The IPO filing identifies four major areas of potential risk associated with artificial intelligence: misuse of the technology, loss of control, exploitation by authoritarian governments and global economic disruption.
The company has warned that highly capable AI models that surpass human experts could become widely accessible within the next few years. Alongside alerting investors to these risks, Anthropic has made it clear that ensuring a safe and positive future for humanity remains its highest priority, alongside its commercial objectives.
