Marking an international expansion for Bangladeshi narrative content, two of actor Mosharraf Karim’s most celebrated web series—'Mohanagar' and 'Bohemian Ghora'—are set to premiere on global streaming platform Netflix. Aiming to engage broader regional audiences across the subcontinent, both productions will be released dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Both series originally debuted on regional OTT network Hoichoi Bangladesh. According to an official announcement from Hoichoi, Ashfaq Nipun's crime procedural 'Mohanagar' will retain its original title on the global platform, while Amitabh Reza Chowdhury’s dark comedy 'Bohemian Ghora' has been retitled 'Shaadi Ka Siyapa' for its multilingual launch.
The release follows a landmark multi-year syndication agreement between Netflix and Hoichoi designed to distribute Hoichoi’s acclaimed catalog, upcoming premieres, and localized adaptations across India's language markets. Under the contract, all new original series produced by Hoichoi over the next two years, along with select legacy titles, will receive synchronized releases in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on Netflix.
A total of 14 Hoichoi productions have been earmarked for release under this partnership, with Bangladesh's 'Mohanagar' and 'Bohemian Ghora' securing key positions. In 'Mohanagar', directed by Ashfaq Nipun, Mosharraf Karim portrays Sub-Inspector Harun (OC Harun), navigating political arm-twisting, bureaucratic pressure, and institutional corruption inside a Dhaka police station over the span of a single night. In 'Bohemian Ghora', directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, Karim plays Abbas, an eccentric long-haul trucker managing seven secret households across seven districts before an unexpected eighth union unravels his life.
Additionally, the slate includes the upcoming Tollywood murder mystery 'Chaalchitra: The Ekkachala Murders', starring Chanchal Chowdhury and directed by Pratim D. Gupta, which is scheduled to premiere on Hoichoi this December before arriving on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, official sources confirmed. //DBTech/BDNR/SMP/MIST//
