Biman Extends Dammam and Riyadh Flight Suspension Period
- Flight suspensions to Dammam and Riyadh extended through November 4
- Decision made due to security concerns from recent attacks on Saudi airports
- Daily double flights to Jeddah and Boeing 787 services to Madinah remain active
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has extended the suspension of all its flights operating from Dhaka to Dammam and Riyadh until November 4 (Bangladesh Standard Time). According to a press release issued by the national carrier on Sunday (October 25, 2026), the measure was enacted to ensure passenger safety following recent security incidents and attacks targeting regional airports in Saudi Arabia.
The airline advised that passengers requiring urgent travel to Saudi Arabia can utilize alternative routes via King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. To accommodate high passenger demand, Biman has been operating two daily flights on the Dhaka-Jeddah route since October 16, a schedule that will remain operational through November 4. Additionally, direct flights on the Dhaka-Madinah route continue to be served by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Biman management stated that further updates regarding flight schedules and resumption dates will be communicated in due course. Passengers seeking ticketing assistance and itinerary modifications are advised to contact their nearest Biman sales center. //DBTech/BTNR/SME/MIST//
