BCS E-Championship Kicks Off at DDI Expo 2026

The BCS E-Championship DDI Expo 2026 began on the second day of the four-day Digital Device and Innovation Expo currently underway at Agargaon in the capital. The offline tournament was formally inaugurated on Thursday, January 29, at the Hall of Fame of the expo venue by Youth and Sports Secretary Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam.

Present at the inauguration ceremony were ICT Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury, BCS President Mohammad Jahirul Islam, Gigabyte Regional Business Head Alan Su, Gigabyte Bangladesh Country Manager Khaja Md. Anas Khan, High-Tech Park Managing Director Mamun Or Rashid, along with other relevant officials and stakeholders.

Following the inauguration, knockout rounds of the FIFA 26 tournament and Valorant competition began. The matches are being broadcast live on large screens at the venue. At the same time, an e-Football tournament is being held on the mobile platform.

Organizers said that the BCS-organized e-championship tournament features three popular games, with a total prize pool of BDT 400,000, aimed at further advancing e-sports and gaming culture in Bangladesh.

Gigabyte Bangladesh Country Manager Khaja Md. Anas Khan said that the online phase of the tournament started a week earlier, while the semifinal and final rounds began on Thursday. Gamers from different parts of the country are participating in the competition, and a large turnout of gaming enthusiasts is also expected.

To further encourage youth participation, organizers have arranged special free giveaways for spectators.

According to the organizers, the main objective of the event is to showcase the potential of e-sports among Bangladeshi youth and prepare them for international-standard competitive gaming.
