BUET Two-Day Science Festival Awards 128 Winners
National Nexus: InnoVers Bangladesh 2025 Celebrates Science & STEM
The two-day National Science and Technology Festival – InnoVers Bangladesh 2025 concluded with vibrant participation from students of over a hundred institutions across the country, featuring programming, robotics, seminars, and innovation exhibitions. The festival recognized 128 winners across ten distinct competitions, including Robotics, Programming, Science Olympiad, Math Olympiad, Three-Minutes Research Presentation, and the Innovation Expo.
Held on the BUET campus, the festival saw the engagement of 2,200 participants competing across these events. The Innovation Expo showcased 45 selected projects from universities nationwide alongside 15 startups, drawing nearly 20,000 attendees over the two days.
The Expo highlighted advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, renewable energy, biotechnology, vehicle technology, and space technology. Fifty innovative technologies and twenty tech-driven startups were exhibited. Complementing the competitions and awards, special seminars and SketchTalk sessions were conducted under initiatives by She-STEM and the Netherlands Embassy.
A particular highlight was the Dynamic Experience Zone, featuring virtual reality, e-sports, drone piloting, and diverse simulation-based tech experiences.
From the 45 innovative projects, the top three were awarded the Shaheed Tanvin Innovation Award in memory of July martyr Jahiduzzaman Tanvin, while three startups received the InnoVenchers Vault Award.
Organizers noted that students from 110 schools, colleges, and universities presented their innovative projects, research, and startups. Institutions including BUET, Dhaka University, KUET, CUET, and RUET contributed to making the festival a true national platform.
The festival was organized by the private entity Whiteboard Initiatives with support from the Bangladesh Government’s ICT Division. It was inaugurated at 10 a.m. on November 13 by ICT Division Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury. The closing ceremony on November 14 featured Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Foyez Ahmad Taiyeb as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Major General Md. Nasim Parvez, Commandant of the Military Institute of Science and Technology, renowned scientist and Fellow of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences Dr. Hasina Khan, Banglalink Deputy CEO Zohorat Adib Chowdhury, Senior Executive Vice President of City Bank Tahsin Haq, and family members of July martyr Jahiduzzaman Tanvin.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Foyez Ahmad Taiyeb stated, “The interim government has undertaken multiple initiatives to enhance youth participation and innovation in information technology and research sectors. Whiteboard Initiatives’ organization of this festival will help ensure the success of such government efforts.”
