Student Startups Secured Success: Six Teams Score Seed Support

In the country’s largest student startup incubator program, the University Innovation Hub Program (UIHP), six out of eleven participating teams from the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) have received grants. The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) announced that these six teams were collectively awarded a total of BDT 170,000 and recognized within their respective innovation cohorts.

To celebrate this achievement, UITS organized a success recognition ceremony on October 20 for the six grant-winning student teams. Mohammad Ali Hossain, Trustee Board Member of UITS and Director of the PHP Family, and the honorable Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hasan Bhuiya attended the event as chief guests.

Other distinguished attendees included Treasurer Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Executive Director of PHP Family Shovito Bikash Barua, PHP Family Member Mohammad Numayr Amir Mizan, Registrar Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, IQAC Director Engineer Md. Safayet Hossain, Additional Registrar Abu Zafar Md. Mohsin, Proctor Md. Tarikul Islam, Head of Pharmacy Department Dr. Md. Mofazzal Hossain, and Student Welfare Advisor and Additional Director of the International Desk Shubh Das.

Supported by the World Bank and the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, the incubator program aims to nurture innovative entrepreneurs among students from universities nationwide. After three months of intensive startup training from July to October, six innovative teams from UITS were finally nominated to receive grants through the UIHP@UIU Launchpad.

This initiative reflects a growing commitment to fostering student entrepreneurship and innovation in Bangladesh, providing emerging innovators with both recognition and practical financial support.
