BASIS Administrator Bestows Awards on NASA Space Apps Challenge - Bangladesh Winners
The winners of the NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2025 – Bangladesh Edition were awarded prizes by BASIS Administrator and Joint Secretary of the Local Government Division, Abul Khayer Mohammad Hafizullah Khan. The ceremony was attended by the 27 winning teams, their guardians, and members of the BASIS Students Forum.
According to a press release from BASIS on Thursday, 23 October, the event took place on Tuesday at the BASIS Auditorium. During the ceremony, BASIS Administrator Abul Khayer Mohammad Hafizullah Khan said,
“Through the NASA Space Apps Challenge, BASIS is opening new doors of opportunity. It is enabling our country’s youth to showcase their capability both in understanding space and in innovation. We are currently on the threshold of a new industrial revolution, where technological advancement is reshaping industry and society. I believe this competition will inspire our young people to become the scientists and technologists of tomorrow. I firmly believe our youth, through their talent and skills, will once again raise Bangladesh’s flag on the global stage through international success.”
For the 12th consecutive year, the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), with the patronage of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and in collaboration with the BASIS Students Forum, organized the Bangladesh edition of the NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2025. This year’s competition was held virtually for the first time on 3–4 October 2025. Over the past 11 years, Bangladesh has earned the distinction of becoming world champion four times, including three consecutive wins, in this global contest.
