Chinese financial service provider TOPPAY has officially launched its operations in Bangladesh. The inauguration took place on Saturday, September 27, at Toppe’s office in Gulshan-1, marking the company’s formal entry into the Bangladeshi market.
The initiative aims to offer Bangladeshi customers a convenient, hassle-free, app-based system to purchase mobile phones in easy installments without the need for a credit card.
During the inaugural event, TOPPAY announced partnerships with mobile brands Oppo, Realme, and OnePlus. Through these partnerships, customers will be able to purchase phones in easy installments and, if desired, upgrade their devices regularly. This initiative is expected to particularly facilitate technology adoption among young professionals.
Speaking about the inauguration, ChenFei, CEO of TOPPAY, said, “We have already invested 3,500 million Tk (350 Crore Tk) and plan to invest over 25,000 million Tk (2,500 Crore Tk) in the coming years. Over the next 3 to 5 years, we aim to serve more than 1.5 million customers. In addition to mobile financing, we plan to expand into financial services, payments, social responsibility, and philanthropy—because we believe our growth should go hand in hand with community development.”
The launch of TOPPAY in Bangladesh is not only set to transform the way consumers purchase mobile phones, but it also plays a key role in the economic development of the country. By providing flexible installment plans, TOPPAY empowers more individuals to access smartphones, thus increasing the adoption of digital technology. As smartphone ownership grows, the demand for digital services in Bangladesh will continue to rise, creating a more connected and digitally inclusive society.
