Threads Tests Text Attachment Tool
Meta’s social media platform Threads is experimenting with a new feature that allows users to share long-form text in a single post rather than through multiple short entries, according to TechCrunch.
The new “text attachment” feature will enable users to easily share deeper reflections, excerpts from books, or summaries of news articles.
App researcher Radu Oncescu was the first to spot the update. He noted that lengthy text posts will appear in a gray box, and readers will be able to click on the box to view the full content.
Rival platform X (formerly Twitter) already offers long-form posting capabilities for its premium subscribers. In contrast, Threads’ new feature is being rolled out for all users, though Meta has indicated that this may change in the future. Currently, the option is limited to text, but images and videos could be added later.
Meta has stated that the feature will soon be made available to more users.
